Obama has a big government solution for everything except defending the border

On Tuesday, President Obama gave what may prove to be, his last State of the Union address. True to form, he included in that speech many big government solutions to, well…almost everything.

Among other federal “solutions” to our current woes, Obama proposed creating:

-A “Trade Enforcement Unit” to investigate lopsided trade agreements currently in place with countries “like China.” (Of course, we could simply stop entering into one-sided trade policies such as NAFTA and CAFTA in the first place.)

-A “Financial Crimes Unit” to investigate “large-scale fraud” on Wall Street. (Or, we could simply enforce the laws already on the books for such crimes.)

-A “Veterans Jobs Corps,” designed to “help communities hire veterans as cops and firefighters.” (Like all big government liberals, Obama does not think that anyone knows how to seek gainful employment on their own.)

Obama also proposed giving federal funding to private companies moving to economically hard-hit areas to pay for such things as “a new plant, equipment, or training for new workers.”

While it is apparent that Obama believes he can solve nearly every problem now facing this nation (though it is unclear what he has been waiting on), one very dangerous problem now facing the United States was conspicuously absent from his list of solutions…The US/Mexican border being overrun with cartel drug smugglers and assassins.

Though the president did call for “comprehensive immigration reform” (i.e. amnesty) in Tuesday’s speech, he did not offer any plan to defend our incredibly porous border with Mexico.  A border that is currently being exploited by not only human smugglers, but by the drug cartels as well.

In fact, according to the Department of Justice, Mexico has become second only to Afghanistan in heroin production and it is quickly coming to the U.S. through the Arizona desert.

The Sinaloa Cartel has, in fact, made Arizona the distribution hub for the entire United States. http://www.examiner.com/drug-cartel-in-national/arizona-becoming-heroin-hub-of-the-western-hemisphere

With several beheadings in this country known to be cartel-related, that “spillover violence” which DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano told not to worry about…is obviously here. http://www.examiner.com/drug-cartel-in-national/cartel-violence-is-here-teen-tortured-beheaded-oklahoma-press-silent

With the hyper-violent Mexican drug cartels already operating in hundreds of U.S. cities, the question becomes…What is this government going to do about it?

The federal government’s chief responsibility is not to create endless blue ribbon panels, nor is it giving billions of taxpayer funds to private enterprise. The chief responsibility of the government is to protect its citizenry from foreign invaders. Period.

Of course, at a time when our friends and neighbors living in the American Southwest are being put at grave danger on a daily basis by the drug cartels, our current president has done nothing but hide from the issue. He has even begun withdrawing the 1,200 National Guard troops from the border states.

So, what will it take for this or the next president to create a “unit” or a “corps” of some kind to deal with the merchants of death now streaming into this country?

Will we have to wait until the United States descends into the kind of chaos that we now see in Mexico?

Will it take tens of thousands of American deaths in our own cartel war?

The answers to those aforementioned questions were not found in Obama’s State of the Union address, nor will they ever be offered by any politician, regardless of party unless we the people, demand them.
