After closing its doors in December, Swirll Winery and Wine Bar reopened in April under new ownership. Primarily known as a destination to make your own wine, the new rendition of Swirll keeps the do-it-yourself theme alive while adding more to the table.
Visitors to Swirll can choose from about 60 Texas wines as well as 30 Swirll varietals. If you find one you like, patrons are 
encouraged to create their own wines under the tutelage of Swirll staff on hand to assist the novice wine maker.
Creating wine at Swirll begins with a sampling of wines. Once a particular grape and style of wine is selected, Swirll staff members walk you through the process of crafting your wine. Once produced, the wine is left to ferment for 45-60 days, at which time you return to Swirll to bottle, cork and seal your batch of about 30 bottles of wine. You can even create and print your own labels to customize your new batch of wine.
If all that sounds like too much effort, you can skip the wine making and enjoy a glass or bottle at the bar while munching on their small, but well-designed menu of cheese flights, cured meats, antipastos and more.

I've been there with friends and family. It has a wonderful ambience and is a great place to enjoy fine wine. Note: I only drink it and leave the making to others.
