Have you seen this man? Suspect in downtown Nashville bank robbery

Nashville Police issued the following statement today:

 

November 23, 2009

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

          Metro Police and the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man believed responsible for robbing the Regions Bank branch at 315 Deaderick Street this morning.

          He approached the teller and presented a robbery demand note at 9:50 a.m.  The teller complied.  He fled on foot. 

          The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s who is approximately 6’2” tall and who weighs approximately 200 pounds.  At the time of the robbery, he wore a light blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

          Anyone with information about the bank robber is urged to contact Detective Keith Sutherland with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at 232-7500 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com. 

Persons who contact Crime Stoppers by phone or text message can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
