Nanci Simmons with Tri-County Farmers Market and the Parker Downtown Development Council (DDC) are proud to announce that they will be bringing the original Parker Farmers Market back to Mainstreet. The Parker Farmers Market has something for everyone.
This Town favorite event has been in some kind of turmoil for the last few seasons, but no more! Starting Mother's Day, this Sunday, boasting over 80 booths of locally grown fruits, veggies, hand-crafted goods and food products, the market is one of the most anticipated events of the summer. Becca Casaraz of Fruits of Our Spirit is so glad to have the market back that she'll even be changing her hours to open early to accommodate shoppers that will be on Mainstreet. Look for coupons for the market each week in the Search Parker Magazine, a local publication.
The Parker Farmer’s Market is held every Sunday from Mother's Day through Labor Day from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Mainstreet is closed to through traffic with booths all along the historic area, and Nanci even has some entertainment lined up. Don't worry, there's plenty of parking near the market, but get there early for the best selection. Make sure to stop by and get a green chili pork burrito from the "Burrito Lady" -- they are addicting. With the street closed to vehicle traffic, booths will line both sides of the street providing a true marketplace for all types of food. Many local shops and restaurants will also be open with Sunday morning specials. In addition, once a month on the 3rd Sunday there will be an additional event alongside the Farmers Market starting with an Arts & Crafts Fair Sunday May 16th.
Other events will include the Parker CarFest, a chili cook-off, a bike show, antiques & collectibles, and the Smokin’ Brew BBQ competition put on by the local Rotary Club.
Several other events they put on include the CarFest, Wine and Music Festival, and Holiday Carriage Rides.
If you’d like more information or want to contact the Parker DDC, please call at 303-841-8155, e-mail at ddc@parkerddc.com, or visit their website at www.parkerddc.com. Office hours are Monday-Friday from noon to 5.
