The Parker Recreation Center is one of the many facilities available in Douglas County Colorado. This year to help residents with their New Year's fitness and wellness goals, they are offering a few specials and programs.- Personal Training Specials Purchase unlimited, one-hour personal training sessions for $30 each, or one-hour Pilates Reformer and Thai Yoga Therapy sessions for only $38 each. Hurry, these specials are only available until Dec. 31, 2009. (Personal recommendation for Tim and Pam Kilduff, they will help you kickstart your personal fitness goals and have fun in the process)

- Commit to Fit Weight Loss Challenge If you are one of the many who drank a bit too much eggnog or stuffed yourself with stuffing, or you've been waiting for something to push you to looks inches and pounds, how about trying the eight-week Commit to Fit Weight Loss Challenge? The challenge will run Jan. 25 through March 20. Think "The Biggest Loser" lite!
Participants can either register as a "free agent" to be assigned to a team or join pick their teams of three to four members. Teams will each work with a personal trainer twice a week and receive nutritional counseling, weekly boot camp classes, pre and post fitness testing, and weekly weigh-ins. The program also includes a 10-visit membership and discounted personal training rates.
Prizes will be awarded to the Commit to Fit team with the highest percentage of weight loss at the end of the program.
Last year’s participants lost a total of 389 pounds and 346 inches!

With so many people making resolutions to lose weight, this is a great idea.
Those specials are great! The trainers here in South Florida are never that affordable!
