Ever stood kicking the dirt as your dogs "goes," you reach into your pocket and no bags? The neighbor is watching, your stomach sinks, and you promise to be back right away to scoop.

The solution? A jacket equipped for dog walkers. Let's Go Designs, Inc. carves out a new apparel niche with the K-Rosco Utility Jacket.

Custom-designed with the wanted features that specifically address dog walkers' needs. It's a four-in-one convertible jacket to accommodate walkers in all seasons and various weather conditions.

Stand-out features include:

  • Lined pocket for treats (removable).
  • Extractable pick-up bags.
  • Extra leash.
  • Ability to walk hands free.
  • Reflective writing and piping for night walking.
  • Rip-stop, wind-resistant, and waterproof fabric.
  • Zip-in/out fleece that also stands alone as a jacket.
  • Retractable coil key clip.
  • Back mesh water bottle pocket.
  • 2 Carabiners for Hands Free Walking.
  • Many, many pockets
  • Many more features--see the website for details

When conducting "in wear" design research with dog walkers, the #1 rated feature was the specially designed cargo pocket with extractable pick-up bags.

"I tired of spending wasted time stuffing my pockets of various jackets/coats with lousy grocery bags, forgetting my home key ... whatever! I wanted to have that time back to enjoy walking with my dogs without the 'I forgot' frustrations, or a neighbor getting angry because I did forget a pick-up bag. I just wanted one supplied jacket'" said Marg Shadid, Let's Go Designs, Inc. president/founder.

Women's sizes available from S-XL at $250.00. The men's jacket will be available Fall 2009.

Marg Shadid told DC Dogs Examiner that she is working on a program to give a portion of jacket sale proceeds to no-kill animal shelters.

"It will be a program that will give jacket sale proceeds back to shelters. All my dogs have always been shelter dogs. I have three now," Shadid told DC Dogs.

Great looking jacket. Versatile for more than walking the dog. BTW, I have seen neighbors put the used and the extra plastic bags under the dog's collar. Makes for a proud looking dog.

Except for the doggie extras it appears to be modeled after some of the LL Bean jackets.

That is kind of cool, little too warm for Texas maybe :)

Like a dog walker could afford that!

Thanks for checking in Elsa. I get nothing out of featuring this jacket, but the satisfaction of showing my readers. I think the price is reasonable for all the features and attention to design.

What a brilliant idea! That jacket looks good on its own -- and it certainly would be warm.

I have this jacket and it is great! It is super warm and really keeps the wind out. I love it not only for dog walking but around town too. Not only functional but stylish too, and very reasonably priced.

Thank you Michelle for this great review of the K-Rosco Dog Walking Utility Jacket! Yes, I am Marg, the eternal dog walker and founder of LGD.
Thank you all for your comments...I have been walking family dogs for over 45 years, in all climates...hence, the jacket was designed to adjust to all weather conditions and still stay supplied...so CC...it will work for you in Texas! Again, thank you all, having a start up company in today's economy, I only hope our jacket will allow you save on dry cleaning bills when you have too much dog hair on your business coat. Thank you Michelle for your great write-up! Let's Go!

    Hi DC Dogs Examiner,
I wasn't implying that you were "getting anything" for writing the feature. I just think the price is unrealistic for professional dog-walkers (the walkers, not the co. owners). Dog-walking is generally a PT job; when people are at work, their dogs need midday walks. Midday is about 4-5 hrs.
    I'm a longtime PT dog-walker & the jacket costs about a week's pay for me :p

I've seen this jacket up close and it really is a nice jacket. Quality materials used with attention to detail. The price seems high but you get 4 jackets in one and the quality of this jacket means the jacket is going to last a long time. Super idea and as soon as I get a dog I will be ordering one of these jackets. Sandra

I own this jacket and think it's just amazing!!! Living in Chicago you never know what kind of weather your going to get, and being able to adjust the jacket for any weather condition is great and makes my, already hectic, life a little easier. Putting a jacket and vest into one combo was genius, totally worth every penny, if not more!!!!

They need to make one out of mesh for summer in the south :)
