SF Dogs Examiner has covered some of the efforts to help the animals in Haiti. Now that humanitarian aid is somewhat beginning to reach the people, some news outlets are giving air time to those who are helping the animals.
Tom McPhee, a filmmaker who tackles animal issues, was recently in Haiti, documenting the efforts to help the animals suffering the aftermath of the earthquake.
McPhee is most known for his film "An American Opera," that portrays the animals affected by hurricane Katrina.
As a Facebook "friend" of McPhee's, SF Dogs Examiner shares a communication of his sent from Haiti last week:
February 3, 2010:
Hola from Haiti! I have been with ARCH staying at their base camp located within the Sonopi industrial center next to the Port Au Prince airport for the last few days. I have many hours of footage already and will try to get at least a few more images and some small vid clips posted yet today - it all depends on conn...ectivity. I will be hooking up with HSUS and Dave Pauli today, stay tuned.... Peace from Haiti, Tom
