Show a little love for your favorite canine companion this month and help the dogs of the Solano County SPCA at the same time. Rose Photography in Dixon is sponsoring “Puppy Love” photo mini-sessions from February 1-28th, 2010. The entire $35 session fee will be donated to the Solano County SPCA.
Rose Koogler, who owns and operates Rose Photography with her husband DJ, decided to offer this fundraiser for the SPCA after the November 2009 opening, and almost immediate shutdown by the DA for selling sick puppies, of a puppy store in Dixon. Puppies from the pet store were quarantined at the Solano County SPCA facility in Vacaville. While doing some research about the rescue of these dogs, Rose found out that the SPCA operates solely through donations and adoption fees. In order to raise awareness and help her local SPCA, she came up with the idea for the Puppy Love fundraiser.
Several other local businesses have joined forces to support Rose Photography’s efforts. Higby’s Feed in Dixon donated bags of puppy treats and chew toys for the canine participants, Wal-Mart of Dixon donated money for treats for dog owners that participate in the fundraiser and Nature’s Select of Sacramento donated sample bags of their chicken, lamb and rice dog food for the participants and an additional $10 donation to the SPCA for any customers that purchase bags of food using the promotion code “Rose Photography”.
As an added feature, Rose Photography is planning to display an 8x10 image from each session at the studio, located at 232 East A St. in Dixon. Stop by to check out the images and vote for your favorite. Each vote will cost $1.00 and the winner will receive an 11x14 print from their session. Funds from the contest will also be donated to the Solano County SPCA. The display and voting will take place on March 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. and March 13 from 1 to 6 p.m.
Help make the dogs of the Solano SPCA feel the love this Valentine’s season. Call Rose Photography at 707-678-1071, or fill out the email contact form at www.rose-photography.com, to schedule your Puppy Love session appointment. Your donation will help dogs in need and you will have a beautiful piece of artwork to display of your favorite canine companion.
