UPDATED 11/13/09: Wayside Waifs says the Camden County puppy mill dogs are now ready for forever homes!

KCMO animal shelter Wayside Waifs is caring for more than 20 dogs seized from a Camden County puppy mill earlier this month. The animals were among the 90 dogs that the Missouri Department of Agriculture rescued from the kennel.

Wayside Waifs is chronicling the dogs' rehabilitation in a series of video titled "The Journey." The shelter is posting the series on its YouTube.com channel. The first of these videos is below. Some scenes are disturbing.


The Missouri Department of Agriculture conducted a similar raid in September in Phelps County. Missouri residents can help the department crack down on puppy mills by visiting BarkAlert.mo.gov.
