A group of people from a variety of pet-dedicated businesses have launched (via Facebook and Twitter) a drive to help animals in shelters around the world have a happy holiday. Officially known as the "Santa Paws" Drive, their aim is to raise at least $3600 to be divided among six shelters across the globe. The funds will be used to purchase gifts for shelter animals. Organizers include yourdailycute.com, Suppliesjust4pets.com and PawPawty.com.
Among the shelters on their list is the CenTex Humane Society Second Chance Shelter, the only no-kill shelter in central Texas, which recently suffered a devastating fire. CenTex is also in need of cash donations to help rebuild, and appreciates gift cards for supplies and volunteers to help with the clean-up.

- Cats Exclusive Inc, in Florida
- The Animal Welfare League in Queensland, Australia
- Eleven Eleven Animal Rescue in Montreal, Canada
- The Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre in Wokingham, UK
- Cats in Need, in Southern California
Your local animal shelters also appreciate cash and gift donations to help their pets enjoy a happy holiday...of course, the best gift you can give them is a "furever" home!
