Ana Lee Spray Home Video: Cougar in Garage
According to KTLA News, three toy Chihuahuas in Riverside County cornered a cougar in their garage. The little dogs weigh only three pounds each but were able to fend off the hungry cougar in a pack.
Ana Lee Spray, the owner of the Chihuahuas, heard the dogs barking incessantly Saturday morning; when she went to investigate why the dogs were barking, she saw a mountain lion in her garage.
Apparently the three dogs stood guard at the opening of the garage barking continuously until the deputies arrived. Not surprisingly, they were stunned to see the size of the dogs that were keeping the cougar at bay.
Officers from the Department of Fish and Game shot the mountain lion several times with a tranquilizer gun, but unfortunately they later had to shoot it with a firearm when the cougar would not return to the wild.
It’s unsure if the little Chihuahuas were defending their owner’s life or their own - after all, who wants to be a cougar snack - but either way those three dogs are heroes.
