What a glorious day, except for the stifling heat. A large group of German Shepherd Rescue and Adoption volunteers came out to show off their beautiful rescues ready for adoption. Owners brought their previously adopted dogs that are now living in their forever homes. It's always wonderful to see how well they are doing in their new homes.
Many different breeds of dogs of all sizes and shapes came out for a sudsy time in the excellent dog washing facilities of Barking Bubbles -- the tiniest of dogs, a shih tzu type, up to the largest, a huge Newfoundland and also a blue tick coonhound named Duke.

All those bathed were in excellent spirits and gave plenty of kisses before moving on to the styling table where they were blown dry and groomed. Such happy, pretty and handsome dogs left with smiles on their faces.
The volunteers of GSRA were there to do all the washing and grooming duties and did a wonderful job.
The owners were all thrilled with the results. Some of the owners stayed close by to hold their dogs' paws, while others took a little me time to run errands. Money was raised for the rescue in a way that was enjoyable to all.
Outside a small group of canopies was raised to guard against the intense heat for the volunteers showing off the bevy of beauties awaiting forever homes.
Some preferred the shade of the trees and comfort of grass to lie in. Tables were set up with information about the rescue organization as well as adoption applications and GSRA T-shirts for sale. There was even a table for microchip implanting and several dogs received this safety device.

If you have a dog in need of a bath, this is much better to use than those car washes. Stop by and have a look at Barking Bubbles. The owner Cindy will make you feel right at home and help however she can. The facilities have hot and cold running water and all the supplies you need to bathe and groom your pet.
GSRA is updating its website. Please drop by there to see all the available dogs for adoption. If you can't adopt right now consider volunteering or even donating. All donations are tax deductible as they are a nonprofit rescue organization.
