Every weeekend the Cary Towne Mall is abuzz with various animals as the AniMall location allows rescues and shelters to take over it's store front for a period of a couple of hours to showcase their adoptable pets.
Last Saturday several groups were scheduled. Early group were the Neuse River Golden Retrievers. Unfortunately they were missed by those that don't get going that early in the morning.
Following the Golden's came the German Shepherd Rescue and Adoption group. There were a slew of shepherds present at the event along with their foster parent(s). A constant stream of dog lovers passed through meeting the available dogs. Some of the visitors were approved applicants meeting with the dog they hoped would become part of their family. Several adoptions were close to being finalized that day.

Meanwhile the dogs wandered around checking out the competition or sniffing old friends. A couple of brand new ladies showed up who had just been rescued from the Burlington shelter. They were awaiting transportation to a foster home in Virginia. Just two stunning sisters who fell on the wrong side of the law and had to leave town.
All the dogs were on their best behavior during the adoptathon and hopefully will soon have forever homes. Some can be seen in the slide show below. GSRA merchandise was also on sale to benefit the rescue.
Tickets for an event on July 31st, in Mebane were for sale to benefit the shepherd and the rescue. It's called "Something to Wine About" and is a Fundraiser/Social. It will be from 4pm-6pm on that Saturday. There will be a Silent Auction beginning at 6:00pm. The $15 Ticket includes Wine Tasting, Hors d'oeuvres and a souvenir glass.
