Can you imagine working with a dog trainer whose business is called "Beastie Darlings?"
Can you imagine working with a dog trainer who only wants your dog to wear a well-fitted buckle collar, not a choke collar or, heaven forbid, a prong collar?
Can you imagine training your dog through communication and not by ordering him around?
If you can imagine all of that, then you are ready for a beast of a dog trainer...BD Malone. BD lives in Tucker with her Schnauzers Duncan. Magique and Bella Divine. She is a Certified Dog Educator, AKC Evaluator, a member of the Georgia Association of Positive Dog Trainers and a member of Truly Dog-Friendly
In the corporate world, BD worked in the service industry training people to do their jobs well. She notes that as a dog trainer, nothing has changed...she's still training people to do their jobs well, only this time the job at hand is learning how to communicate with their dogs in order to build a great relationship. That's the basis of BD's training methods.
In addition to classes, BD co-hosts an online radio show on BlogTalk radio and tonight is the beginning of her Back to Basics sessions, helping dog owners to understand the basics of communicating and relating to their dogs in order to shape desired behaviors. The show is called Canine Mutiny and it airs on BlogTalk radio tonight at 8. Listeners are invited to call in at 347-677-1824 with questions, and if you can't hear the show live, bookmark the page and listen when you have time. All of the Canine Mutiny shows are archived on the site for your listening enjoyment.
Thonight's show will cover the foundation skills for a long and happy partnership with your dog. So get the New Year off on the right foot...or would that be "feet"...with your dog. Round up your furry friend and settle in for an informative show on the building blocks of a strong relationship.
Update - 1/12/09 - BD Malone's training company, Beastie Darlings, has been named the top dog training business, 2008, by the viewers and voters in the Fox5 City Voter poll.

You never cease to amaze me with the interesting articles you write. On-line dog trainer...who knew!
My rooster comes when I call his name. I don't command that he come, but I say his name as if talking to a friend, just as Malone suggests. Maybe I'm a chicken whisperer. :) Mic
BD is a wonderful trainer - I've worked with her to establish the best relantionship wiht my 2 Welsh Corgi's and all we have done has culminated in two well behaved, well adjusted girls, Maddie and Morgan. BD has made such a difference in how I communicate with Maddie and Morgan. If you have any issues with your doggies,I recommend BD 150% -she is amazing.
