Puppy swallows 8 golf balls, then has balls removed

Anyone who has ever had a puppy has their own horror story about a swallowed item.

Mine involves my older basset eating the leg off a Mace Windu action figure with a sock chaser.

But young Wally from Boxboro, Massachuetts, has a bigger tale to tell around the clubhouse--he swallowed eight golf balls.

Evidently, Wally, an eight month old Rottweiler, thought the small white balls were treats, and gobbled them up.

According to his owners, he was acting weird for a couple of weeks, and then one day threw up three golf balls in the yard.

They took him to the local vet, who ran an x-ray and found five more balls inside his stomach.

Wally underwent an hour long surgery to have the quintet of golf balls removed.

To make matters worse for little Wally, the Top Flites weren’t the only balls he lost today--his owners also had him neutered while he was knocked out on the operating table.

For his troubles, Wally received a cone around his head so he doesn’t tear his stitches.

Wally was allowed to return home, and is expected to make a full recovery.
