Mike Anderson has announced the release of his cinematic Half-Life 2: Episode Two mod Outpost 16, now available for download.
Initially, the mod was only to be used as a level design portfolio piece, but after going through a few story edits Mike released it to the community. The file weighs in at 187 MB and can be had on ModDB, from the game and file description:
Outpost 16 is a single-player... cinematic and moody single level for HL2:EP2 that also includes custom voice acting, models, and music.
This mod was made initially only to be used as a piece for my level design portfolio. After discussing with friends, I decided to release it to the community. There were supposed to be many more levels, as part of an overall campaign. After realizing the amount of energy required to do just ONE level up to the standard of quality I desired, I quickly had to rearrange my story and compress as much as possible into one level. This is the highly edited result: Outpost 16.
Released February 08, 2010. To install, simply extract the folder "outpost16" to your "SourceMods" directory which should be located on your computer at "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods" Your path may differ depending on where you installed Steam. Then, restart Steam and there should be a listing for "Outpost 16" in your "My games" section.
