How do you get over 1,000 proposals during the week before Valentine's Day? Put out a You Tube asking for love and health insurance.
Terri Carlson who is a 45-year-old divorced mother from California is searching for a husband via YouTube, She is looking for love but more importantly she's looking for health insurance.
"I don't care what you look like. But what I do care about is how good your health insurance is. So, you want me to respond to you? Attach your health-care benefit information," Lemondrop.com reports.
Her website Will Marry for Health Insurance describes her rare genetic disorder, C4 Complement Deficiency. It is an autoimmune disease that prevents her body from being able to fight off infection.
She tells Lemondrop.com that after her divorce, she was unable to receive Social Security because she didn't have the 10 or more years in the workforce to be supported. Carlson was a stay-at-home mom for 24 years to to four children. She has healthcare through her job but it would cost $1,200 a month. Her takehome pay a month is $800.
What do you think? Is it okay to marry for health insurance? Your Divorce Guru's opinion? If people can marry for money and status, health insurance seems pretty darn practical and responsible!
