Kelsey Grammer of Cheers and Frasier fame asks his fans not to believe everything they read.
It had been recently reported that Grammer's wife Camille filed for divorce with her tipping point being that Kelsey did not call their two children on Father's Day while he was working in New York.
Kelsey Grammer addresses the "malicious rumor" that he did not call his children, 8 and 5 who live in Los Angeles with Camille, on Father's Day while he was working in New York. He is appearing on Broadway in La Cage Aux Folles. Grammer posted on his website:
"...I did call my kids that evening. Frankly, I was surprised that they did not call me in the morning but I was thousands of miles away and working that day so I didn't give it a second thought. I called them to see how they were doing as I do almost every night at around the same time, 11 p.m. my time, 8 p.m. their time, just before they go to bed," he writes.
What does Grammer have to say of future rumors that may spring up? He asks fans not to believe everything they read or hear.
"Gossip and the rumor mill always thrive during times like these, as in the Father's Day story," he writes. "Whatever might be said, I ask that you take the 'high road.' I intend to do the same."
Well said Kelsey. Now if only Mel Gibson could do the same.
