Disney’s El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, an exclusive first-fun theater for Walt Disney Pictures, is hosting its first “Tiny Tot Tuesday” movie screening at 10 a.m. on Sept. 7, 2010. To introduce this special movie-going experience, El Capitan Theatre will show “Tinker Bell & the Great Fairy Rescue,” the new Pixie Hollow film set for release on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.
Tiny Tot Tuesday shows the featured movie in a house with dimmed lights and the sound system turned down for young and sensitive viewers. Such screenings are toddler- and family-friendly, offering parents an enjoyable way of introducing children to big-screen movies.

“Tinker Bell & the Great Fairy Rescue” and “Beauty and the Beast Sing-a-Long”
Every screening of “Tinker Bell & the Great Fairy Rescue,” which runs until Sept. 19, will include a live appearance by Tinker Bell herself. Audience members may breakfast with Tinker Bell before the 10:00 a.m. movie at select shows. Reservations are required.
Also part of the early fall 2010 schedule for El Captain Theater is the “Beauty and the Beast Sing-a-long,” which runs from Sept. 24 – Oct. 7. Audiences are welcome to sing along with the movie’s favorite songs – “Be Our Guest,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Belle” and “Gaston” – while enjoying the newly restored high-definition movie.
Similar to “Tinker Bell,” all screenings of “Beauty and the Beast” include a live appearance by Belle for select shows. El Capitan offers a Breakfast with Belle that takes place before the 10:45 a.m. show for select screenings. Again, reservations are required.

Have you been before? It's a wonderful theater - just hate the traffic around there. LOL. I'm happy to see Nightmare is back on for its annual run - remember going years ago during panel discussions and the exciting year Tim Burton was scheduled, but he was a no show. :-( Looking forward to seeing Nightmare since it's on for 2 days before I leave on my next flight!
I love this theater, and all the street entertainment around the area! I've been lucky in that I haven't found the traffic to be too bad, considering the area. Sadly enough, I'm such a movie geek that I just count El Capitan as part of any Disneyland trip. The movie and live pre-show, of course, as well as the Soda Fountain next door. But also the displays in the theater, its restoration, and – if I'm being honest – the buckets o' popcorn.
Great reporting on the new introductions to Disney.

I love the idea of Tiny Tots Tuesday at the El Capitan Disney Theatre! Accomodating their youngest fans should be a huge plus for Disney. Having the lights only dimmed and the volume turned down for little eyes and ears is terrific!
I love this, I remember taking my kids to the movies when they were little. Parts would get real loud and they would cover their ears, way to go Disney. Now they need to put them all over the nation.
Joyce, don't quote me on this, but I think more and more movie theaters ARE offering special screenings for toddlers and children with special needs. My local AMC theater offers showtimes of G-rated kids' films with the lights half-up and muted sound, too, and advertises pretty heavily. If you're not too far from a chain theater, you could call and ask them if they offer some shows with these accommodations.
Wasn't aware of this happening. I might take my little brothers, sisters, and cousins to see this.
This looks fun. and looks like fun for someone with little kids aswell
This is wonderful news for all those who live near El Capitan Theatre. I wish Disney would bring to NYC also. Big Disney fan so would enjoy seeing them with the characters even if I am no longer a child...only at heart.
