The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are preparing 120 million doses of H1N1 swine flu vaccine to release before flu season this fall amid concerns from parents who are worried that the new vaccine could be disseminated without enough proof that they are safe.
They are worried that the mercury-containing preservative Thimerosal could be used in some of the doses of the flu vaccine.
Thimerosal has been used as a preservative since the 1940’s and it contains 49.6 percent mercury by weight and is metabolized or degraded into ethylmercury.
Ethylmercury is the principle agent that kills contaminants.
Mercury poisoning has been linked to cardiovascular disease, autism, seizures, mental retardation, hyperactivity, dyslexia and many other nervous system conditions.
Immunization Safety Review reports that the CDC backs the continued use of Thimerosal because the Institute of Medicine (IOM), a branch of the National Academy of Sciences reports that the body of epidemiological evidence favors rejection of a causal relationship between the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism and also favors a rejection of a causal relationship between Thimerosal-containing vaccines and autism
The Autism Research Institute does not accept the IOM findings because they report:
1. The MMR had not undergone adequate testing
2. The practice of injecting increasingly large numbers of vaccines-many containing large amounts of mercury and other toxins-into the bloodstreams of immature infants was never evaluated for safety.
3. The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) is a travesty; fewer than 10 percent of side effects are ever reported.
4. Thousands of U.S. and U.K. families say-and can demonstrate with videotapes and photos-that their children were normal prior to being vaccinated, reacted badly to the vaccines, and became autistic shortly after.
5. A number of clinical laboratory studies demonstrate that vaccines may cause chronic damage to the G.I. tract, immune system, brain and other organs.
Government health officials say that prior to the beginning of the flu season this fall, clinical trials will have taken place to determine the safety of this vaccine, the correct dosage and whether the vaccine should be delivered in multiple injections.
Only time will tell.

THIMEROSAL was federally banned in 1998 because of the "KNOWN" side effects of this ADJUVANT. It is linked to AUTISM and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Thimerosal contains MERCURY. MERCURY is the 2nd. most TOXIC naturally occurring substance know to man...uranium is 1st. AUTISM rates have gone from 1 in 10,000 in 1980 to 1 in 250 in 2002 according to The National Institutes of Health statistics. SQUALENE is also going to be used in the h1n1 (swine flu)vaccinations. SQUALENE (MF59)is the unapproved ingredient that was used in the experimental vaccinations that was given to our GULF WAR VETS and the cause of the GULF WAR SYNDROME....which is linked to devastating lifelong AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE. SQUALENE was federally banned in October of 2004. During a declared pandemic a vaccine manufacturer can use any ADJUVANT they deem necessary, and they can use them with impunity...you cannot sue the vaccine manufacturer of the federal government for any side effect you might incur...even DEATH!
Numerous studies conducted by the CDC, NIH, WHO and other well-respected medical research organizations from around the world have done research on thimerosal and none have been able to find a causal link between thimerosal in vaccines and autism. The Autism Research Institute is on a mission to prove otherwise. Go to their website. They mention only studies that were done several years ago. More recent, and more qualified studies are not listed on their website because they contradict the claims the ARI is trying to propagate. Furthermore, mercury poisoning has never been linked to autism. Ed Kellner...research before your write.
PHIL is correct in pointing out that thimerosal was removed from most vaccines. What he misses is that autism rates did not go down after that, which one would expect to happen were thimerosal responsible for autism (that is, if one were capable of logical thought). Notice that he even uses the 2002 figure in his rant.
Sorry about my rant...it might be genetics! EKSwiTaj I concur with what you said....the figures I quoted are old...so am I...somehow I hold those to memory.Scott...the CDC,NIH and the WHO are in lockstep with Big PHARM...the major drug companies are some of the largest lobbying bodies in D.C. and they contribute (commit) millions of dollars to D.C. to further their cause....making drugs.The day my son got vaccinated for rubella he went into an epileptic seizure.He continued to have seizures for three months...even with medication. The rubella shots back in 1997 had thimerosal in them! He has ADHD and ASPERGER'S SYNDROME...he's had it for 11 years now. If thimerosal and squalene cause no harm ...why were they banned? Why is there going to be a thimerosal and squalene free n1n1 vaccination. Why not just use the thimerosal and squalene vaccination. Why would the fed protect themselves and the vaccine manufacturers by passing laws that prevent people from putting law suites against them ??
I will address as to why the autism rates have not gone down since the removal of thimerosal.....children are getting 30+ vaccinations from the time they are born to the time they go through the 12th grade....some receive even more! Some ADJUVANTS cause the larger white blood cells to bunch up and travel along the walls of the blood vessels rather than being mixed in with the red blood cells,....this can lead them to blocking passage of the red blood cells through small arteries and capillaries....shutting off the oxygen....causing HYPOXIA in that area of the body. Without oxygen cells die...very bad for your brain!!!

Different kind of mercury all together. Ethlymercury does not cause mental retardation, ii dissipates and leaves the body. Even if it did, which it does not, mercury poisoning does not cause the same symptoms as Autism. Its one thing for individuals without scientific knowledge to post stuff like this, its quite another to write articles without doing due diligence research.

Hey Chuck, why don't you start by reading a Merck Manual and learn just how toxic ethylmercury is. It does not quickly leave the body, it quickly leaves the blood. Where does it go? Try the brain. Burbacher's paper shows that in primates, twice as much inorganic mercury, following dealkyization, is left in the brain when comparing equal doses of injected thimerosal vs. ingested methylmercury. You're the one who needs to stop pretending to be a scientist.

You have no idea what you are talking about.
You know that millions of people have been vaccinated and have done quite well. What we do know about autism is a more definitive diagnosis now and in the past it was probably diagnosed as something else. Alzheimer's disease was organic brain syndrome for example and now we know there are at least 4 different types of dementia. For those who are worried about vaccinations causing problems, perhaps it would be better to have the contagious disease?
