For those readers old enough to remember wearing powder blue tuxedos to prom, platform shoes to the disco and Levis straight legs just about everywhere else, today is the day for the “Little 500”.
As I reported in an earlier article, the Little 500 is a student bicycle race featured in the movie, “Breaking Away” and is held annually at my alma mater, Indiana. The women’s race begins today at 4:00 p.m. with the men’s event tomorrow at 2:00p.m., and you do not have to ride your bike all the way to Bloomington to watch the festivities
The largest collegiate biking event in the nation.
The Denver Chapter of the Indiana Alumni Association is hosting a “Little 500” party in the private party room at Choppers Sports Grill beginning tomorrow, Saturday, at 11:30 in the morning. Everyone is welcome to wear their IU gear, their “Cutters” T-shirts, or anything else they deem appropriate for the occasion, but you need to act quickly.
Space is limited, and, if you have not already, you need to email Ross Miller at rossamiller3@hotmail.com to see if there is still room to squeeze you in. Wear your Crimson and Cream, come on down, and enjoy some Indiana-style food while you watch this year’s competition
