Sunday, December 13th is the 24th Annual Union Square Historic Homes and Cookie tour beginning at noon. Cooooooookies, today is National Cookie Day, cooooookies! This is an opportunity to check out some of the remarkably restored 19th Century homes (including HL Mencken’s “mansion”), eat some tasty cookies, and help out with revitalizing a once great community in Southwest Baltimore. Want to see some amazing homes in an area that’s trying to get back to its historic greatness, stop on by.

Tickets can be purchased the day of in the old Pratt Library located at 1401 Hollins Street for a mere $15 per person. For more details click HERE  Last year’s program had cookie recipes so you can probably assume there will be recipes this year as well.

*Those luscious cookies in the photograph are by Italian native Daniela Useli - email her at daniuseli@yahoo.com for details on purchasing and she also does cooking classes as well.

Our men in blue

As part of its ongoing "Thanks to You" heroes program, Greater Baltimore area Dunkin' Donuts stores are honoring local police men and women by offering them a free medium coffee every Tuesday during the month of December.

Honk, honk - a moment of self promotion

I love social media and I love the connects I've made. To the point, I responded on Facebook to Monica Bhide's request about one's favorite spice and wooo hooo, here's the story at the Washington Post - HERE
