Who can cook with crab the best? On Tuesday, August 3rd from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. seven regional chefs go toque-to-toque for the honor of winning the B & O American Brasserie’s First Annual Crab Bash and bragging rights. For a mere pittance of $10 dollars you are invited to buy a ticket, come watch the competition, taste the entrees, and those of legal drinking age - taste B & O’s mixologist Brendan Door’s specialty cocktail for this anniversary event.
It doesn’t end there; you can win a one-night stay at the Hotel Monaco or a gift certificate for dinner for two at B & O American Brasserie.
Better yet, 100 percent of the proceeds from the B & O American Brasserie’s first anniversary Crab Bash goes to Great Kids Farm –which educates Baltimore city students about maintaining a healthy and energy efficient lifestyle through a farm that the students maintain.
The competitors
Here are the seven chefs who are taking the crab challenge; E. Michael Reidt of B & O American Brasserie, Jason Ambrose of Salt, Dave Newman of Brewer’s Art, Guillermo Tellez of Square 1682 in Philadelphia, Christian DeLutis consulting at Sotto Sopra Restaurant, Paul Healey of Domaso in Arlington, Virginia and Jay Silva of Bambara in Boston.
And the final decision
The crab dishes will be judged by those who attend and a panel of local celebrity judges including Baltimore magazine’s Suzanne Loudermilk, Mix 106.5’s Reagan Warfield, and Examiner.com’s national food blogger, yours truly.
