My name is Dara Bunjon and I’m a plate addict, I admit it. I have more plates and platters than 18 families combined. I have fine china: Minton, Staffordshire to unusual pieces from flea markets and yard sales. There isn’t a Ross for Less or TJ Maxx that I don’t scour their housewares sections for a new mug, platter or new set of everyday plates.
Fishs Eddy – my new plate haven
I just returned from New York City where my sister took me to Fishs Eddy. It was like a magnum of champagne to an alcoholic – plates, plates, glassware, plates, platters and more plates. I whipped out my Flip camera for a video tour of the store with all of you in mind and a fun interview with the manager – I wanted you to feel the joy I was experiencing. Unfortunately, my Flip video camera was left on a counter at a bus stop on the Jersey turnpike. But I digress. If you aren’t going to New York City anytime soon you can buy on-line at their website (which is very easy to maneuver)
My sister explained that the store started off buying used plates from cruise ships, hotels and restaurants and has expanded over the 20 years. We were on a tight schedule to meet up with friends so my purchasing was curtailed but like the Terminator, “I’ll be back!”

I have more coffee cups and tea cups than I have room to store them. I can't resist them and don't even try to anymore.
I would have to attend that meeting virtually, from Texas.
