Slosh pipe overhead lunges.
Looking for a new piece of cheap exercise equipment to challenge your entire body? One that your gym is guaranteed not to have even though it should? Look no further than a Slosh Tube.
The slosh tube is a large PVC pipe filled with water and capped on the ends. It’s a surprisingly effective workout tool. Best of all, you can build one for less than twenty bucks.
How to do It
Go to your local hardware store and buy a PVC pipe. You’ll want one at least 4 inches in diameter and 7-10 feet long. Buy caps for both ends. Make sure at least one of the caps is removable and rubber.
Having one of the caps on at this point, fill your pipe at least 1/2 full of water. Cap the other end. You now have a slosh tube.
What to do with it
Although the slosh tube only weighs about 40 pounds, those 40 pounds of water will be sloshing around inside the 10 foot long tube, putting all the difficulty in being able to constantly adjust and balance this tube. Whether squatting with it, pressing it overheard, or simply just carrying it on your shoulders and walking, it will provide a workout incredibly unfamiliar and challenging.
Here are some videos showing some creativity with a slosh pipe:
Although it is a fairly big piece of workout equipment, it's made of PVC pipe and water. Nothing wrong with leaving it in the backyard or garage. It won't rust, shouldn't break and although it's long, it's only 4 inches in diameter. Better than that treadmill sitting in your home.
