Reebok EasyTone sneakers, trending high all day on Google Trends, are taking the fitness world by storm—but whether it’s due to their ability to provide better firming action for the glutes and hamstrings or the sexy ads to promote them is debatable.
With a design based on the premise of full-size balance balls (aka stability balls) that many people use in their exercise routines to create better balance, flexibility, and core challenge, the Reebok EasyTones have mini stability ball equivalents (“balance pods”) under the heel and forefoot. This creates a stability challenge to the feet that forces the individual to achieve greater balance with muscle adaptation, and in theory creates greater toning action on the glutes, calves, and hamstrings.
In the current television commercial, the shapely model lectures on the scientific principles of EasyTones and their abilities to enhance calf, hamstring, and butt—while the camera playfully pans in for a close-up of her own backside. The ad campaign is controversial, with some threatening to boycott Reebok until they remove it, and others anticipating the next showing. Note that there is no such thing as bad publicity.
The Reebok EasyTones are touted as offering soft cushioning and durability, with the suggestion that the softness also facilitates the burning of more calories. The manufacturer cautions that lateral movement sports (think tennis or basketball) should be avoided with the EasyTones.
Retailing at over $100, purchasing instability for a tighter tush doesn’t come cheap.

Sounds pretty cool. Would be neat to be like a tester for them, so I wouldn't have to buy them to try them :P
Hmmm.. I wonder if they come with a disclaimer, say, if you lose your balance?
I can't see myself buying a pair of Rebok Easytone sneakers (or any sneaker for that matter) for that much money. Do they mention how long you have to be walking for that tighter tush?
Advertising is not always honest as you provide thought for in this article. Looks should not take over many other aspects to consider in buying shoes for exercise. I have succumbed to that more than once.TX for the great eye opener.
