Brownies have a special place in my heart. When I was a wee-little girl it was a treat to wake up on a random Saturday morning and have a brownie for breakfast, "They're just about as bad as doughnuts are," my mother would say.
This Saturday (09/11) through Monday (09/13), San Diego county Chuao Chocolatier cafés are hosting Free Brownie Tastings featuring Spicy Maya, Abuela, and Winter flavors. Spicy Maya combines cinnamon with cayenne pepper and other spices for a rich chocolate that gives taste buds a surprisingly hot finish. For more sensitive taste-buds, Abuela transforms the flavor of the favorite Venezuelan hot chocolate or get ready for the season with a Winter Brownie laced with ginger, pepper, and cinnamon.
