La Notte Cafe's splendid chocolate truffle
Decadence made uncomplicated, this Italian chocolate truffle served by the classy La Notte Café in Berwyn, tastes as good as it looks (and it looks really delectable!).
Inside this 3-inch-sized ball of bliss is zabaione cream (a type of custard) surrounded by authentic, rich chocolate gelato. Topping the fabulous truffle are super-crunchy caramelized hazelnuts. The decided crunch from the hazelnuts is a pleasant contrast to the creamy gelato. A heavy dusting of cocoa powder halfway completes this dessert masterpiece. Drizzles of sweetened raspberry and butterscotch sauces add a touch of exquisiteness to further beautify the already-splendid presentation. One cool green sprig of fresh mint pokes out from a dollop of cream, while a finely-sliced strawberry fans out from a second spoonful of cream. The presentation is balanced beautifully with accentuated pops of color. Just one spoonful of this sweet treat is soooo indulgent!

It is evident that the chef (and owner), Giovanni, invests quality time and effort into creating the perfect chocolate truffle for his guests—a note worth remembering the next time you are looking for a fine Italian dessert in Chicagoland!
A wide variety of dessert items are offered at La Notte Café, including tiramisu, crème brule, various sorbets and spumoni. The chocolate truffle dessert is quite memorable in both taste and presentation.
The beauty of La Notte Cafe’s chocolate truffle is that it is an absolutely sinful dessert for a heavenly price: $6.00!
