The Ferry Building is the perfect place for a foodie field trip. Whether you regularly visit the farmers market or are a fan of Cow Girl Creamery, it is where you will find quality food. But wander around a bit on a Saturday, and you will see at least six bakeries represented. One in particular stands out over the rest. But every bakery has its own style and characteristics, why would this one be significantly different than the others? Well, they are absolutely gluten-free.
Yes, now you can also find gluten-free pastries at the Ferry Building. A new addition to the Ferry Building is the Mariposa Baking kiosk, located in southern half of the building. Here you can buy some gluten-free chocolate chip cookies or pizza dough for a reasonable price.
Mariposa Baking is based out of Oakland and opened in 2004. Patti Furey Crane, who after learning of her own gluten allergy, sought after developing gluten-free products that still taste delicious. Their products are handmade in small batched and contains no preservatives or additives. Other items include biscotti, brownies, tea loaves, pizza dough and even bagels.
Mariposa Baking is exclusively gluten-free with a few dairy-free items. For more information about Mariposa Baking click here.
