A few days ago Nevada’s Secretary of State confirmed that the Tea Party of Nevada is now recognized as a third Party and is eligible to field candidates for the general election in November, which seems to have ruffle some Tea Party groups in other States, along with the Republicans in Nevada.
Some Tea Party groups are saying the Tea Party of Nevada is a front group for Senator Harry Reid.
Why?
Because the Tea Party of Nevada will be fielding their own candidate to run against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and any vote for a Tea Party candidate will be a vote lost by a Republican candidate.
Sarah Palin whose words were echoed by Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck the other day, said that the Tea Party will never be strong enough to become a third Party and that America has a two party system and the Tea Party needs to pick one.
Patriots for America, the Confederate Yankee and other populist groups that are faithful Tea Party tea baggers are saying that they never heard of the Tea Party of Nevada or its leader Barry Levinson before the States recognition of the Party.
An excerpt from one of the articles reads, “However, there is significant concern in the grass-roots constitutional conservative movement in Nevada that this is a "false flag" operation - a group of liberals and Harry Reid supporters who are masquerading as constitutionally-conservative grass roots activists with the intent of splitting the movement and drawing electoral strength away from the real Tea Party and grass roots organizations.”
On the website of the Confederate Yankee, the blog page reads; “I've seen several articles today and have read some comments about the formation of the Tea Party of Nevada and their intention to run an unknown against struggling Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.”
“As others have noted, there isn't a great deal of information online about the group or its principles... but there is enough to start wondering whether the group is remotely serious, or just a bunch of cutups.”
“You need look not further than Barry Levinson to know that the group is a farce. Levinson, former attorney for John Wayne Bobbitt is the Secretary of the organization, and holds a seemingly bizarre pedigree for a Tea Party patriot. According to his own blog, Levinson is a disgruntled Obama supporter:”
“America is falling apart and we are watching it crumble. Obama is just another politician and not the savor we all thought. His idea of CHANGE is a band aid. Maybe, Americans need to rethink the way our government is run.”
While there seems to be some question about the validity of this group with other Tea Party tea baggers, the filing papers with the Secretary of State does list the contact information for Barry Levinson who is the Secretary of the Tea Party of Nevada.
Two things you will notice when reading their conspiracy theory, first they think that Senator Harry Reid is the Minority Leader, and second the post by Barry Levinson is the exact description of a Tea Party tea bagger, someone who is “disgruntled” with the government.
I am sure that in the coming days and weeks we will learn much more about the Tea Party of Nevada, and until it is proven that they are a front group for Senator Reid, you can chalk this up as just another conspiracy floated by “disgruntled” Americans.

Like we didn't know this already?
I didn't, I don't live in Nevada, but I like the news thanks Dave.
Senator Harry Reid is a human rights abuser and he profits money from sex crimes. Senator Reid LDS Mormon Church wants non Mormons punished for sex crimes on their bodies so there members can profit over American military famlies.
Look up 'Teabagger' on wikipedia.
Re: anonymous
Oxford Dictionary (added 2009)
teabagger - a person who protests President Obama's tax policies and stimulus package, often through local demonstrations known as "Tea Party" protests (in allusion to the Boston Tea Party of 1773
And it was the Tea Party Teabaggers themselves that picked the word Teabagger...
Many words and phrases in the English language can, and do have multiple meanings...
When the Oxford dictionary added the word, they also added several other for 2009...You can read the whole list here...

Thats right
Yes, folks, you read that article correctly. The TEA Party/Republican brand name is now so toxic, that its members will accuse themselves as being a front for the Democrats in order to scare voters away. Or am I giving them too much credit? They don't seem to be capable of rational or original thought. Maybe they're just cannibalizing themselves.
You will know a prophet by his works. Just as a good tree will produce good fruit; so to will a bad tree bear bad fruit. No false prophet will do good works; just as all good profits will do good works.
Listen and watch carefully to what this 'Tea Bag' candidate says and does. He will show his colors soon enough.
MA has a long record of corrupt candidates placing straw-man candidates against themselves in order to split the opposition vote. It is likely that technique is used elsewhere as well.
It certainly wouldn't be the first time 'Dingy' Harry Reid has run 'back door' political scams; and if he succeeds, it won't be the last, either.
They are called Tea Party Patriots not 'teabaggers'. That term was used by the progressive media who were trying to discredit the movement.
Dems said it was 'patriotic' to complain on Pres. GW Bush's policies....so I think it's patriotic to complain about Pres. BH Obama's socialist and irresponsible spending policies.
Dave Phillips appears to either be a liberal whacko, or not very smart. "Teabaggers" is an extremely derogatory sexual term, NOT created by the Tea Party movement, but by those ridiculing it. Oxford dic does not reveal the origination, but wikipedia does.
wikipedia.org/wiki/Teabagger
You better believe this is the love-child of Rahm Emanuel, Axelrod and Jarret. Trying to deceive the American Voter is gona be their WaterLoo.
Please stop using the tea baggers comment. We are Tea Partiers. Please grow up and stop using names becoming of a middle schooler.
Also, Palin, Rush, Beck , and Hannity are wrong in that the Tea Party is not stong enough to become a third party! We do not agree with what either the Dems or the Reps have been doing and will not pick sides. We will choose the candidates that listen to the people and stick to the constitution or will promote our own candidates. The Dems and the Reps need to pick thee candiates that coincide with the people's wishes!
Re: ghkjhgiu
As I said earlier, teabaggers which seems to upset you is a word that is recognized as having more than one meaning, you choose to ONLY recognize the sexual connotation only, which shows where you mind is at...
Wiki which you choose to use is an open source site, meaning that anyone can log on and add or edit what they want, such as the origin of the tea party teabagger meaning...
I am not going to sink to your level where you said that "Dave Phillips appears to either be a liberal whacko, or not very smart."...
When you stop the discussion and move to ad hominem's you are saying that you cannot backup your view with facts and you attack the messenger, which is the case here...
I pointed you and everyone else here that objects to the use of the word TEABAGGER with a link to oxford dictionary, its also in the urban dictionary with a similar meaning...
It was Fox and Tea Party members who first used the word to describe themselves, that's the facts...
Re: Me
You said: "We do not agree with what either the Dems or the Reps have been doing and will not pick sides. We will choose the candidates that listen to the people and stick to the constitution or will promote our own candidates."
I Respect and support that 100 percent...
I myself have voted for many third party candidates in my lifetime and still would when a candidate comes along with ideas that I agree on...
I wish more Americans were open too the idea of supporting and voting for other parties that are not from the Democratic Party or the Republican Party...
As for the use of the word "Teabagger", I will continue to use it when it fits the story and when I have used the word in the past it has never been in the sexual context...I find the hypocrisy from the tea party teabaggers whining about the word teabagger amazing...You have seen the names used against liberal, democrats and the President by the Tea Party, right?
When I use the word teabagger it is not ab
your bias is showing. your insistance on refering to the tea party people with the obscene nickname teabagger says all i need to know
For those interested in seeing that the oh-so-fair David Phillips is only interested in discrediting the tea party movement with his comments, here is what wikipedia (yes, open source) says (quite accurately I might add): "In 2009, Tea Party protests were formed to protest against United States government tax and spending policies.[7][8] The mainstream media used the term "teabaggers" to describe the conservative anti-tax movement. Owing to its sexual connotation, the term "Tea Bagger" has been used by several pundits and journalists to ridicule the protesters. Anderson Cooper apologized for using the term. [9][10][11][12][13] The term's growth in the political arena earned attention by the Oxford American Dictionary, and the word "teabagger" achieved finalist status for the OAD Word of the Year.[14]
Tea Party Nation = Stop Bankrupting the Country with more failed policies, Stop Wasting Money and paying off Special Interest Groups, Become Accountable for your actions. REPRESENT your Constituents.
That's really all it is.
Sorry you can't deal with the fact that it's mainly made up of Americans with Independent Political views and have just gotten fed up with both Sides of the Two Party System.
IT IS NOT ANTI-GOVERNMENT As you continuously attempt to IMPLY... The Tea Party Does NOT NEED to CHOOSE a party and Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck have NEVER suggested that it must choose sides.
Independents Swing and win Elections - Not Parties.
It's really no different then the SEIU or AFL-CIO influencing it's members of who to vote for...
But of course... you probably know all this and just discouraged that the Tea Party Nation will never Endorse Sen. Reid, Rep. Berkeley or Rep. Titus who are merely puppets of President Obama and Nancy Pelosi.... and failed policies.
Disclaimer: This represents my personal opinion; I am an officer in the Clark County (Las Vegas) Nevada Republican Party, but I want to make it clear that these comments in no way reflect the views of the party. These are only my opinions and views.

Scott Asjian and Barry Levinson, candidate and creator of the Tea Party of Nevada Party (Tea Party Squared) have never been active in any Nevada grass roots tea party event, discussion list, bulletin board, planning session or barbecue (we do a lot of cook-outs to meet candidates and get to know each other a bit better). Not one. And I think I ought to know.
Two weeks ago, I wrote a blog on Tea Party Squared, challenging them to prove that they were, in fact, part of (and therefore entitled to) the tea party movement. All I got was a series of special-pleading emails from an anonymous "fan" of Scott Ashjian's (I wondered if it was, in fact, Scott - but the email address 'govgood@aol.com" was otherwise anonymous.

This David Phillips guy is either ignorant, or thinks everybody else here is. Of course the word "teabagger" is a derogatory term used by the "progressive" media to ridicule the Tea Party movement. Most people know what it means, but the "progressives" actually think they are clever and original using it using it as a double entendre. It's their way of ridiculing those whom they disagree (very tolerant and open-minded). Personally, I'm not offended when "progressives" use the term, I actually chuckle, because I know it only makes them look sophomoric and childlike (not to mention intolerant and uneducated). Sadly, this is becoming more and more representative of today's youth and Obama's nanny state.
BTW, I am a registered independent voter in Nevada. I do not represent or actively support the Republican Party (and definitely not the now ultra-liberal Democratic party); nor am I an active member of the Tea Party movement. I consider myself an independent libertarian.
Harry Reid is an embarrassment to this fine state, as well as an embarrassment in Washington. I hope the voters in Nevada recognize Scott Asjian for what he is, a plant to keep Reid in office another 6 years. Nobody has heard of this guy, and he is not on record attending any Tea Party events. Moreover, Barry Levinson is a "progressive" with an ultra-liberal past. This is totally transparent. "Progressives" like Asjian and Levinson think Tea Party voters and independents are too stupid to catch on. While I'm not a supporter of the Republicans, I will hold my nose and vote for Sue Lowden. She certainly can't be worse than Reid, and at least appears to be the most fiscally responsible candidate of the lot.
