Yesterday Senator Harry Reid launched a new health care website that will help Nevadan’s learn how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) will affect them.
The new website, Nevada Health Facts will allow people to find out for themselves exactly how the new health care reforms will impact their daily lives.
With so much misinformation and lies spread by Republicans and right wing news stations such as Fox, Nevada Health Facts is a breath of fresh air. You can read the facts for yourself, instead of hearing some pundits skewed slant and opinion.
Some of the immediate benefits of health insurance reform include:
*Providing access to coverage to more than 68,000 uninsured Nevadans who have a pre-existing condition
*Ending lifetime limits on coverage and restricting annual limits (annual limits will be eventually eliminated entirely)
*Barring insurance companies from arbitrarily dropping your coverage
*Ensuring Nevadans who already have coverage get access to free preventive care like mammograms
*Cutting brand-name prescription drug costs in half for seniors on the Medicare Part D “donut hole”
*Giving Nevada’s Medicare beneficiaries access to free preventive care and a free annual check-up
*Giving more than 24,000 Nevada small businesses tax relief to make health insurance more affordable
Everything you always wanted to know about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, but were afraid to ask, can be found at Nevada Health Facts.
