The ULTRA MARATHON: BADWATER RACE sends winners to finish line: 1st place: Marcos Farinazzo, and 2nd place: Waldo Lopez.
The 2nd year winner, Jamie Donaldson races to the finish line again with a time of 27:20.19, followed by Pam Reed taking second place. Jamie is making Colorado proud today.
Those who could make the race are tweeting and congratulating all the winners, and making suggestions for the future already. It is hard to even imagine trying to run in the extreme heat of Death Valley, Ca. Today's temperature on the fringe of the Desert reaching to about 109F. in a few places.
The central valley could reach far out of that range. Look for more details as the day unfolds and runners finish their races. Keeping up the pace and getting to the finish line is serious business, and those involved are always working to keep the racers safe and healthy in the extreme conditions.
The Race is winding down on the 15th, and the runners will be basking in the glory of their achievements, and nursing blisters, and replenishing the body. Congratulations to all those who participated, worked hard and did their best to finish the race and place in the winners circle.

Who is Hutch De Loach? No such person competed in the Badwater Ultramarathon.
Just not sure how that one got there. Maybe a ghost from Death Valley, thanks for the heads up and the race winners are hopefully correct now!
I can't imagine racing in that heat! Some pretty impressive runners!
