D.C. police are asking the public for assistance in identifying the man who robbed one bank and may have attempted to rob another bank five blocks away a week later. Detectives are looking at the possibility that the same suspect may be responsible for both incidents.
In the most recent case, police say the man entered the Bank of America at 3500 Georgia Ave NW around 11:45 a.m. on Nov. 21. Once inside, he reportedly produced a note demanding money, but ultimately fled the scene without obtaining anything.
In the previous case, a similar male suspect entered the PNC Bank at 3300 14th St NW around 1:20 p.m. on Nov. 14. He produced a note demanding money and fled after obtaining an undisclosed amount of money. .jpg)
Police described the suspect as an adult male in his late 20’s, with a light complexion and of an unknown race. He is between 5’11” and 6’1” tall and weighs between 180 and 200 pounds.
In one of these cases, the suspect was reportedly wearing clothing described as a red sport or running-type jacket with black thin stripes along the front, a black skull cap and light colored jeans. In the other case, the man wore a black jacket with a distinctive white, red and yellow abstract design on the front.
D.C. police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects responsible for these crimes. Police ask anyone with information to call 202-727-9099 or 1-888-919-CRIME.
