A man was shot and killed early Saturday in the Anacostia Historic District of Southeast Washington during the controversial All Hands on Deck (AHOD) crime initiative. AHOD began at 6 a.m. Friday and concludes at 6 a.m. Sunday.
EMS personnel describe the man as being roughly 40 years old. He was shot multiple times and found outside in the 2000 block of 16th St SE around 1:10 a.m. He was taken to Washington Hospital Center and was later pronounced dead.
Police have not speculated on a motive or suspect.
