Kangaroos may hold the key to preventing skin cancer

Need to break from healthy breakfasts because there’s been an incredible breakthrough.  Kangaroos may hold the key to preventing melanoma, a devastating cancer that affects more and more people every year.

Humans lack a DNA repair enzyme found in kangaroos, which effectively fixes a particular type of damage linked to numerous skin cancers.  The scientists have developed new chemical byproducts from this study.  One goal is to create a “dream cream” containing this enzyme for people to spread on their skin after a sunny day.

Nobody is immune from this painful cancer. Celebrity chef Giadda De Laurentiis’s younger brother was diagnosed with melanoma at just 29 years old; sadly he lost his battle. It’s vitally important to slather on SPF everyday, even this winter when it snows. Vitamin D plays a critical and positive role in our health. It’s the overexposed person that puts himself in jeopardy. Just like upside-pineapple cake is delicious, it should be in moderation; everything in moderation.
