Not sure what to do this Sunday, May 15, in the city? Assuming you went out late on Saturday night, to either Asia after Dark or the DC Burners Elective Collective (or both!), go ahead and sleep in—you earned it! When you wake up, grab your coffee and head over to the International Vegetarian Food Fair at Capital Memorial Church for a healthy, yummy hangover-curing buffet. Then afterwards, saunter over to BloomBars for Seed featuring Classical Revolution DC for some live classical music.
Once a year, Capital Memorial Church members prepare their favorite native dishes (from over 40 countries) and wear their finest ethnic clothes (so wear yours as well!) and unite to present an unlimited “sampling” of authentic international vegetarian cuisines.
You can take a small serving of hundreds of delicious vegetarian and vegan items (and come back for seconds if you like!) Try exotic foods from Africa, Asia Pacific, Caribbean, Europe, India, Latin America, Middle East, and North America. All foods will be vegetarian; those which are vegan will be noted. The price is $12 per person, with children age 10 and under eating for free!
