The University of Dayton checked in at No. 25 on Monday afternoon when the AP Division I Women's Basketball Rankings were released. The achievement marks the apex of the program's steady climb since head coach Jim Jabir took over the Flyers in 2003.

During Jabir's first season, the Flyers posted a 3-25 record. Clearly, this is now a different program.

On November 13, the Flyers upset then No.10 Michigan State to open the season. The dramatic 77-74 triumph over the Spartans stands as the team's marquee win. The ladies haven't looked back since then, marching to a 5-1 record, which includes wins over BCS schools in Georgetown, Purdue and MSU.

The Flyers have been able to maintain that early season momentum and thrashed Chicago State, 82-51, on the road in their last game.

Tonight the team plays its first game ever as a ranked crew. Stay tuned to DaytonFlyers.com later this evening for a recap of tonight's matchup between the Flyers and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
