On Friday, November 20 Oprah Winfrey, 55, announced that The Oprah Winfrey Show will end in 2011.  Winfrey has been hosting her top-rated talk show since 1986 and will call it quits at the end of her 25th season.

When Oprah first aired on September 8, 1986, I was just a kid, but like so many viewers I have been an avid watcher over the course of the last 20 plus years.  I have learned from her, disliked her, and absolutely loved her.  Oprah said "these years with you, our viewers, have enriched my life beyond measure" and certainly she has enriched many lives as well.  But, does the end of the show mean no more Oprah?  It's doubtful.  News has surfaced that she has decided to end the show because she will be starting her own network, OWN - the Oprah Winfrey Network.  Oprah did not mention the new network in her announcement.  She said "I love this show. This show has been my life and I love it enough to know when it's time to say goodbye.  Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and it feels right in my spirit.  It's the perfect number - the exact right time."
