My name is Kaia, and I moved to the Seattle area in 1990. Aside from spending one winter in Colorado, I have been here ever since and honestly can’t think of a place in the world I would rather live.

I'm an avid adventurer who loves experiences. My adventurous nature ranges from the indoors to the outdoors, from the short to the long, and at a variety of points along any other range with which one might want to judge an activity. I enjoy “being” in general, but I enjoy it even more when I am seeing new or interesting things, going to new or interesting places, or actively experiencing life in some way. Fortunately for me, the Pacific Northwest is vastly rich in such offerings. (Anyone who thinks this place is boring should either move elsewhere or adjust their attitude.)

This past December, my sister started writing as the Denver Pet Health Examiner. She sent me some links about becoming an Examiner.com writer and after perusing the information, I decided it could be a fun endeavor. And if nothing else would help me get back into a habit of writing.

I was not given a scope guideline for this category aside from the name, but my goal is to provide both locals and non-locals who happen to be in the area with some ideas for things to do when they only have a day to do it.
