From April 10th through April 12th, 2009, First Nations @ UW hosts the 38th annual UW Spring Pow Wow.
This free event features dancers and drummers from tribes across the nation, and typically attracts thousands of spectators and participants.
Friday's events begin at 3:00 PM, and both Saturday’s and Sunday’s events begin at 10:00 AM. All three days contain grand entries - Friday at 7:00 PM, Saturday at 1:00 PM (Coastal) and 7:00 PM, and Sunday at 1:00 PM. This year's theme is "Indigenous Solidarity" and the Pow Wow will be hosting various performers in support of this during Saturday's dinner break. Sunday will also feature a One Man Hand Drum Contest.
The Pow Wow is held at the Hec Edmundson Pavilion (next to Husky Stadium). Admission is free, and fry bread, Indian tacos, and other refreshments will be available for purchase.
