Farm fresh pecans - From the Green Valley Pecan orchard in Sahuarita

Green Valley Pecan Company in Sahuarita

Visiting the Pecan Company and Pecan Store

While driving down I-19 in southern Arizona, consider stopping off at Sahuarita, just south of Tucson. Take the Sahuarita road exit, go through town a couple of miles and look for the Green Valley Pecan Company on the left.  Enjoy the mountain scenery and dark green pecan trees orchards. The trees are huge. This is  the world’s largest irrigated pecan orchard with 6,000 acres and 106,000 of Wichita & Pecan Store in SahuaritaWestern Schley variety of trees.

At the Green Valley Pecan Company, they have a store, open to the public Monday - Saturday 9am - 5pm and 10am - 4pm on Sunday. You can find natural pecans as well as flavored and candied varieties. It's a great place to find a special Arizona gift.

The Green Valley Pecan Company provides some great pecan recipes on their website.

There's nothing like fresh pecans. I've introduced pecan pie to several of our friends here in the south of France, and it's been a huge hit! (And it's considered "exotic" - so I loved reading the article and am going to share it with my English conversation students when we're back in session. Thanks!

I'm so glad they are growing plenty of pecans, as they are my favorite of the nuts.
