Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Historic Fort Reno Cemetery you can hear the joys and tragedies of cavalrymen, scouts, settlers, and WWII German POWs that were at Fort Reno during the years 1874 and 1947. Historic re enactors will portray and tell the story of Ben Clark-arm scout, Moka Clark-Cheyenne woman, Suzie Auten-school teacher, Patrick Lynch-cavalry-soldier, Hans Seifert & Johannes Krunze-German Prisoners of War, and more.
In addition to the storytelling there will be historic camps around the cemetery with many display items. The Fort Reno Visitor Center Museum and Chapel will also be open for visitors.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for youth 4-12. Ticket cost also includes a chuckwagon meal of beans and cornbread. Fort Reno is approx 30 miles west of Oklahoma City on Route 66. Take Exit 119 from I-40 and follow the event signs. For more information call 405-262-3987.
