In his first appearance on The Late Show following news that he had been the victim of an extortion attempt, David Letterman joked that a subsequent phase of the sex scandal will involve a sobbing appearance on Oprah.
Strangely enough, that may actually happen, although there are no guarantees that actual sobbing will be involved.
There are rumors circulating around CBS that David Letterman is aiming for damage control among female viewers by seeking a one-on-one appearance with Oprah to discuss what exactly transpired in his past that could have possibly provoked what has become a personal nightmare for David Letterman and his wife Regina.
Although Oprah and David Letterman have had a less than amiable relationship at times in the past, it could be mutually beneficial for the ratings of both hosts' programs to team up for an interview and the subsequent fallout that would almost certainly attract millions of curious eyes and ears.

He wasn't married at the time, he didn't force himself on these staffers, what they engaged in was mutually acceptable behavior. I think its 15 minutes of fame is long over.

Letterman has finally gone Hollywood,the boy from small town USA is officially slime. To make it worse, Letterman has been telling jokes at the expense of politicians, usually Republicans, who have also misused their authority and power to get into the pants of young ladies and boys working beneath them. It doesn't matter if everyone was single and that the sex was consensual,its wrong and dangerous and will cost the company big once the women find out that the sex they had with Letterman is now worth money. From a company HR perspective, the liability is tremendous. Letterman is a creep and hypocrite and he owes all his fellow creeps who he's maligned in his monologue about their affairs or the sex they had between consenting adults, a tears streaming apology. Besides, he took a trick on his recent vacation with his family, ugly, ugly, well maybe she paid her own way, not chance, wake up. So what do you think did Letterman have sex with "that woman" on his family vacation?
If David Letterman thought this was a "joke", He would not have gone public. This would have surfaced sooner or later, as we well know. So come on and get realistic. He was the one to tell all, his writers didn't write this one. Give it a break! He is a "great" entertainer! I want to see him back again, soon!
Some people react with humor I'm sure this is what he is doing he screwed UP BIG TIME but he knows it!! My husband still has never apologized! Had you rather he pay the money? I don't think he thinks its a joke I'm sure he knows he hurt his wife very bad and that can't make him a happy MAN!!
