In my next life, I want to be Carrie Underwood. Seriously. Not only does she name David Cook as her BFF from American Idol , but she just dropped a new (and sure-to-be-successful) album, is hosting the CMA's with labelmate and fellow country music icon Brad Paisley, and is dating an NHL hockey player...not bad for a small town girl from Checotah, OK. On top of hosting the CMA's, Underwood is nominated in two categories, including "Female Vocalist of the Year," which she has nabbed the past three years. She isn't, however, nominated for the "Entertainer of the Year" category, of which she holds the current title. When asked by USA Today's Brian Mansfield if she feels slighted, Underwood says she actually understands, as she didn't complete an actual tour in 2009:
"I was still working very hard," she says, "but I wasn't out there in the public eye."
And of her upcoming All-Star Holiday Special, Underwood says:
"It makes me feel nice to think that people can watch the special and hopefully giggle and enjoy some great music."
The USA Today article goes on to note more details on the special:
On the show, she sings a trio with Christina Applegate and fellow Oklahoman Kristin Chenoweth. She also duets with one of her heroes, Dolly Parton. "I was just bright red and beaming the whole time," Underwood says.
David Cook, who won American Idol three seasons after she did, joins her for Van Halen's Why Can't This Be Love. "We sound really good together, point blank," she says. He also lived briefly in Tulsa, and she likes that. "Out of all the people that have been on Idol, he's my best friend."
Looks like the feeling is mutual for David Cook (not that anyone can blame him), as he came out via Twitter in support of both Carrie Underwood's album dropping, and Kris Allen's debut CD being made available for pre-order on iTunes:

Stand in line cause I am cutting in...being Carrie in my next life!
what is your point? They are best friends so what.
Carrie and David would be an adorable couple!
My 2 favorites! I LOVE Carrie and David!!
I am really sick of her actually! Because all her christian act has left her since her stardom. And to listen to her talk in a interview or something ...It"s as if "She thanks she is all that" I don"t like people like that. David Archuleta is the real deal on the other hand. He knows where his talent came from . And who it is about! "All but himself"
she doesnt think she is all that, your dillusional, she is so sweet and down to earth and her faith in God,well who are you to judge on that??shes a nice girl who gives back to her community because she hasnt forgotten where she has come from and she stands up for what she believes in shes a hardworking strong christian girl and i have never heard carrie be rude or contradict herself in interviews she comes across very polite respectful and classy...more power to her !!! although if she did think she was all that she has the beauty and success to back herself up on that !!.......all i say is eff hater!
newsflash.."CARRIE IS ALL THAT"..."h-e-l-lo"..she is soooooo gorgeous, she has an incredible career, she has a great family, and a handsome boyfriend, shes super talented,..i would think im all that too !!...but carrie doesnt think that shes very humble and she deserves the best!
i love her and her album "play on" is beautifull. im so proud of her she has come along way and her hard work has paid off i have so much respect for her, in my opinion she is the best idol and the one i admire the most...and not to mention the most beautifull "wow" she is stunning!
