Political correctness...it's changing the face of this nation.

Political correctness has simply run amuck in this country, and is changing the face of this nation. The Obama administration is loath to use the terms terrorist, or terrorism. Instead....terrorism is now called a "man-caused disaster." And this cute little interpretation (of terrorism), can be heard from the likes of Homeland Defense Secretary Janet Napolitano. It's also quite noticeable that Barack Obama refuses to use such wording, and this in an effort so as to not offend the Islamic brethren. 73% of American's are up to their eyeballs with trying to skirt the issue of whether or not the Islamic community gets offended by what's said. It's very clear that America is at war with Islamic Fundamentalist Terrorists, who seek the total annihilation of America and the west. And someone is worried about offending them? It's time to face this head on and completely do away with political correctness.

This president has also decided that he doesn't like the term "global war on terrorism", so he had it changed to, "overseas contingency operation." This came in an email memo to Pentagon staff members and then passed onto The Department of Defense. PC is beginning to dictate everything that is said or done in this country; and how America celebrates her holidays as well. The current administration has thought about changing the White House Christmas Tree and naming it a "Holiday Tree" . This would make sure that the Muslim community would not take offense since they don't celebrate Christmas, yet they have their Ramadan, a month long time of fasting and more prayer and cleansing of past sins....and neither Christians nor Jews would think twice about taking offense as to how they celebrate or acknowledge their religion. But look out....don't offend the Islamic community by celebrating Christmas or Hanukkah, they'll get mad and call The New York Times and pitch a big 'ole fit! Political correctness dictates that these things and more are offensive and therefore should be changed to accommodate accordingly. But according to who? A minority that has somehow put the majority in a stranglehold? It's as though "We The People" are now the minority.

America and American's are caving into PC and the PC police are watching people's every move. Just ask the Rev's Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, both of whom are leaders in the PC crusade. How dare a white man say anything derogatory against a black man! Jackson and Sharpton will have the PC police knocking at your door post haste. But do not try and fire back at them...those that do will find themselves totally vilified and shunned from the neighborhood. Politics and PC, using it's extortion techniques, will have folks quickly caving in to the whims and fancies of anyone whose feelings are easily hurt. And it sure seems that the feelings of those in the Islamic community are easily hurt.

The idea of political correctness won't be going away anytime soon....and this is especially true since more and more people are acknowledging PC's existence and bowing down to it. Just like Obama bowing to Japans emperor and to Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah. But that's another article. The most recent example of political correctness comes from the Ft. Hood shootings in Kileen, Tx. When Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan brought two 45 caliber pistols to a processing center and opened fire, killing thirteen and wounding twenty-nine people, and all the while shouting "Allahu Akbar!" — "God is great!" in Arabic . Yet this administration will not call Hasan a terrorist, nor say that what he did was carrying out a terrorist act. And everything in evidence points to Hasan as being a terrorist, and carrying out the act of a terrorist....with some success as well. It's well known by now that Hasan was trying to contact al-Qaeda representatives over time, the Army knew about it yet did nothing to put this man in check. Now who doesn't believe that political correctness did not play a part in any of this?

Obama tells the nation that he doesn't want to proceed forward with Maj. Hasan until a full investigation is carried out by the Army, the FBI and the State Department. In other words....he will withhold any type of terrorist wording until he's certain that all other possibilities have been exhausted before calling Hasan a terrorist, and admitting to the fact that the man committed an act of terrorism. However funny it may seem, the rest of the country has already figured it out. This was most assuredly the act of a terrorist....and no, it's not at all funny. But it does serve to continue to prove a point, and that is that Barack Obama will help to bring this country to it's knees with the aid of political correctness. He is seen by foreign leaders as being weak because of his PC beliefs. He is seen as being weak amongst his countrymen not only for his PC beliefs, but how he abides by it's very nature.

Imagine what the Founding Fathers would be saying right now about political correctness. That is if they could ever understand it! It's not hard to imagine folks like George Washington and John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson and even Benjamin Franklin trying to deal with such a thing. They would conjure up the old saying that "a rose by any other name is still a rose", "garbage by any other smell is still garbage." They would be the first to call it like it is....and they would stand tall to defend their beliefs and not let anyone tear them down for fear of offending someone else. It's comical how people will talk about political correctness and laugh about it....but when it's right in their faces they do absolutely nothing about it. Political correctness would quickly disappear if only folks would stand up to it. If people would remember that there was a time when one would say, "hey, don't tell me how to talk or what to say, I'm calling it like it is buddy!" And that's what everyone should be doing....calling it like it is, and not worrying about who might be offended.

Your danged right. And it's political correctness that's prevented us from calling Tim McVey, Eric Rudolph, and those abortion clinic bombers, arsonists and murderers what they really are... Christian terrorists.

Spot on. The military is being reshaped on sensitive feelings. It's a shame that the US is becoming so sensitive that we care more about others then ourselves.

you said everything points to hasan being a terrorist, just the fact that he was an army official, why not label timothy mc veigh a terrorist or the colombine kids terrorists or these california street gangs terrorists? just admit your definiotion of terrorists is radical islam. and you talked about ramadan, we as christians celebrate our holidays publicaly, and your gonna try to compare ramadaan to that? really? is there a ramadan parade? a white house ramadan tree? that argument was complete fallicious theres no way our mass media/consumer driven celebration of jesus birth could even compare to ramadan. i too believe obamas euphimisms are ridiculous, but try not sound like another sad white man crying about the struggles of the majority, shut the ef up already you know we have the unfair upper hand in this country, get over your self and take some effin responisibilty over your prejudices and racism.

It's unfortunate that Examiner.com doesn't hold it's writers to real journalistic standards like fact-checking. The whole "Holiday Tree" thing is a hoax, which I, who am not a "journalist" or even a journalist wanna-be like Michael Stilley was able to determine in an internet search that took me all of 2 minutes see factcheck.org or snopes.com. Who knows what other misrepresentations this "article" contains. Mr. Stilley is nothing more than a self-important poser. I feel sorry for him and everyone who drinks his brand of Kool-Aid.
