In one of my earlier articles, "Social networking growing up as 40-somethings get involved", I talked about the growing trend of the over 40 crowd utilizing social networking sites. In this article, I thought I’d talk about a few of the sites that are specifically for the over 40 crowd.
These sites can be valuable resources. Many sites offer expert advice, business networking, social gatherings and opportunities to showcase your talents. These are great places to exchange advice, stories and personal successes. And for the sites below, membership is free.
Fabulously40.com - Provides information, resources and a great community to help women unleash their hidden creativity and grow during this exciting time of life. This is a safe, secure network where women feel free to share, learn and grow with one another through blogs, articles, forums and other online tools. Fabulously40.com enables women to make connections, build relationships and nurture and support each other on the premise that with age and experience come wisdom and confidence.
Teebeedee.com – Social network that allows people at midlife to exchange information and experiences, post articles, join discussion groups, learn from each other and connect to like minded people.
ActivAgers.com - Users can easily stay in touch or just communicate with old and new friends through messages, chat and discussions in forums or groups. Members can publish content whether photo, music, video or blogs. This community network supplements its features with a magazine and a travel portal for individualized vacation organization.
NotOverTheHill.com - Create and design your own web page, post on forums, write blogs, share your comments, share your favorite photos, songs and videos. Chat with and send intra-site messages to people from all over the world - and it has family safe content.
The number of single men and women over 40 is continuing to rise. These sites offer a way to connect with others who understand our challenges and can offer support, advice and friendship.
For more info: Spend some time checking out these sites. These sites, as well as others, can be a great conduit for intellectual, emotional and spiritual growth.

i liked teebeedee the best out of these... another site i'd recommend is Boomerater, its also a free online resource targeted to baby boomers...i used it to help me find a financial advisor but i know other people who have used it to find a senior housing facility for their parents, or career advice when they were starting up their own business
