Everybody takes a date for a walk down the Rideau Canal at some point, and although it can be romantic, it's not very intimate; not to mention cliché.

Why not take your date to Nepean Point aka Champlain Point next time you're going for an evening stroll? The peak of the hill, where the statue of Samuel de Champlain resides, boasts of one of the most beautiful views in the city. Champlain Point overlooks Parliament, Centretown, The Ottawa River and Gatineau, QC (including the Casino de Lac Lemy and it's beautiful fountains) in one panoramic gaze. This spot is sure to wow anyone, even if they have seen it before.

Bring along a blanket and snuggle up after dark; Champlain Point is nice and private once the sun goes down on the city.
