The League worked on the “slick” portion of the concrete track Saturday evening and qualifying was delayed until Sunday Morning, making it the first time qualifying and the race was held on the same day.
After qualifications, Danica started in 13th position and finished in 15th position running the entire race with no contact. She finished with 15 points, 35 points behind the winner, Will Power, of Team Penske. After the race, Danica said, “At the end of the day I think the Godaddy.com car is going to be strong this year and the team overall is a lot stronger than we’ve been. It was a good first out for us.”
