Joanna Krupa posed for PETA.
Last night, Ian and I were sure that Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson would fall and the possibility of "Dancing with the Stars" would become "Dancing with the Porn Stars" was on the horizon.
I was thinking that instead of winners saying, "I'm going to Disneyland" the female winners would be declaring..."I'm going to pose for Playboy."
The Walt Disney Company, of course, owns ABC and ABC is part of the Disney-ABC Television Group, but Disney doesn't own the Playboy Channel.
Yet despite being second after Monday night and high on the Google search trends (Krupa Playboy), it was Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough who were eliminated. That's seems like a vote for clean living.
Of course, there have been winners who posed for Playboy before they won.
Brooke Burke, who won season 7 (fall 2008) with Derek Hough, had posed for Playboy in 2001 and 2004. Kelly Monaco, the winner of the first DWTS season, posed for Playboy and was Playmate of the Month in April 1997. She competed with Alec Mazo during the summer of 2005.
There was even a non-winner who posed for Playboy after her run on the show.
Lisa Rinna, who has posed for Playboy in 1993 while six months pregnant, competed during season 2 of DWTS (winter 2006) and was Playboy's cover model for May 2009. Rinna and her partner Louis Van Amstel finished fourth, eliminated in favor of former NFL wide receiver Jerry Rice whose popularity took him to second. Rinna and Van Amstel had better scores than Rice and his partner Anna Trebunskaya. Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke would win the mirrorball that season.
Former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Melissa Rycroft who finished third during season 8 said no as did Kelly Osbourne, who was supposedly asked to pose for Playboy this season. According to BuddyTV.com, Rycroft's contract with ABC stipulated that she couldn't pose nude while she was on DWTS and three months after the season ends. The report also indicates that the offer to Rycroft was extended personally by Hugh Hefner.
Apparently there was no such clause in Krupa's contract and posing for PETA or the segment with Krupa and Hough doing charity work for an animal rescue along with Hugh Hefner's interview supporting Krupa didn't help build her fan base.
Rycroft returned to DWTS last night to dance to the BeeGees with her partner Tony Dovolani and professional dancers Chelsie Hightower, Cheryl Burke and Artem Chigvinsev.

There is nothing wrong with someone posing for Playboy. It does not make them a bad or immoral person, no than going in to politics does.
I believe that ABC put pressure on the judges and reworked to totals so that Krupe would not be one of the finalists.
This is just more proof that the mainstream media thinks they know what is best for us.
Kelly Osborne should have been the one to go. Although she has greatly improved, she is not the better dancer.
I thought this was a dance-off and pure entertainment. I didn't know it was to critique anything but dancing; certainly not anyone's private life. If that was the case then Kelly's drug habit and spoiled, selfish ways would have been under the microscope just as anyone who had posed for playboy. Get back to the basics and judge the dancing..that IS what it is supposed to be, isn't it??
Donny should have gone home. With his performance on Monday, how could he not!?! He's just lucky that he has groupies who vote for him just b/c he's Donny Osmond and not on his merit to make the Finals.
From what I viewed Joanna danced much better than Donny and therefore, he should have been the dancer eliminated. Kelly was even better than Donny. It is very disappointing that it appears they were not judged on their "dance performances"
I am absolutely appalled that Joanna Krupe was not in the final three. This is a dance contest not a private life contest. If we start looking into everyone's private life I am sure there is skeletons in all their closets. For Kelly to move on with the way she has behaved in front of cameras and turning to drugs to cope and cursing like a sailor! She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and was able to do whatever she wanted and she went down a very dark road, but it does not seem like anyone is judging that. Donny the worn out has been with of course the squeaky clean past, or at least that is what we all know. Both of them did not come close to the way Krupe danced! It seemed to me on Monday's show that Carrie Ann was giving all kinds of love and compliments to Kelly her Scores where at times even the same as Krupe....dancing with the star's has become fake and that changed the whole outcome of who should go to the finals.
Are you kidding me!! This has got to be a joke. First of all I thought this was a dance contest, does everyone seriously think that Donny and Kelly was better than Joanna?? Are people judging on their personal life's or the way they dance? Did the judges fake it? I guess we the public will never know what really happen, all I know is Joanna by far should have moved to the finals. The other two did not come close to the way she could dance!
This show is one big joke . It is not about talent it is about who is the worst then sick people just call in and vote for that person to show they can control the outcome.
Voting by the public should stop when the couples get to the semi-finals! It becomes a popularity contest and has nothing to do with how well they dance! Donnie over Joanna? PLEEEEEZE!!
!!
I think it is a shame that a person with talent like joanna got voted off.Donnie and Kelly should have been gone the past two weeks.This is the last show that i will watch.
I think Donny is a better dancer than Joanna and Kelly and is deserving of his spot in the finals. Joanna's waltz was beautiful, but she is really stiff and has no hip action in the Latin dances. I rewatched Kelly's dancing, and she had quite a few missteps that the judges never called her on. I think she is overscored.
Mya shouldn't even be in the competition, she has too much dance training, and has danced professionally in shows, movies, and videos. I think that crosses the line of fairness.
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder! Besides, what makes DWTS any different than AI??? The best is what the viewers see...again, everyone's opinion differs. All the stars are winners!
What has happened to DWTS? The group "Italian" on this weeks elimination show was pronographic. Where is the class this show once had? My DVR now has one less show to record.
JOnana lost my vote when I saw her true colors in a show with TO. She treated him like a dog. She is a very nasty person. If she showed this side of her on TV then can you imagin what she is like in person.
I am amazed how now this is political......what is this world coming to. I think now the judges are being persuaded because of ratings. I am getting more frustrated all of the time with this show. I guess I need to just quit watching it. Everything on TV is political anymore. People out here in the real world get sick and tired of this kind of crap going on. There comes a time when enough is enough. I have loved the show but the pattern for the last two years with it is the same. Keep certain stars because of who they are and they obviously can't dance. I think I have better things to do with my time.
My wife and I have been retired over two years and have watched DWTS since it's second season. After the semi-finals last Monday/Tuesday we agreed not to watch further shows. Unfortunately, I don't think this fact will influence the show executives as long as DWTS ranks so high in the ratings polls. Our thoughts on the show:
1) we have always been suspicious of any show that determines winners based on a "vote" that isn't shared with the public -- i.e., the 50% of viewers' voting. This causes the show to be more of a popularity contest than who is the best dancer;
2) as some of the persons above wrote, keeping some "stars" on the show who either never should have been invited or stayed on past their time just because their name/popularity increased ratings;
3) completely disagreed with Derek and JoAnna not advancing to the finals. That pretty much eliminates any competition or Mya unless the "political public vote" side happens to make a mockery out of this year's results;
