Another large-scale recall has hit the nation, following a recent recall of tainted cookie dough. This time, the product in question is beef.

A Colorado company initially recalled more than 41,000 pounds of beef products due to concerns that the products may be contaminated with E.coli. On Sunday, the company expanded the recall to include an additional 380,000 pounds of beef. The products came from the JBS Swift Beef Company, which is located in Greeley, Colorado. The company has voluntarily recalled the products, expanding from an initial small-scale recall.

“We continue to work closely with the USDA to ensure that product is removed from the marketplace and the recall is completed successfully," said Chandler Keys, JBS Spokesperson, in a statement.

Although the recalled meat from JBS Swift only includes whole muscle cuts of beef, the company said that they had sold the beef to distributors and some, in turn, had ground it into ground beef for sale.

Did the contaminated beef reach Greater Danbury?

It's possible. And more information is expected to be released early this week.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, the impacted meat were produced on April 21 and 22. They were shipped toboth distributors and retail establishments in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah and Wisconsin.

The USDA has not updated the list of impacted states or the locations of reported illnesses since June 24. So, it's not yet certain if Greater Danbury may have received some of the impacted products.
